February 2025 Focus Print

Letter from the President

John Donovan

Dear NEAHP Members,

I attended a conference last week where about one half of the sessions focused on the utilization of AI in fund development. There were some mind-blowing moments including learning the College of Charleston and other universities are testing an autonomous fundraiser, an AI driven avatar that will interact with donors. (https://www.philanthropy.com/article/the-a-i-thats-already-raising-money). If that doesn’t get your attention, then I am not sure what will. AI in fund development is here – there are dozens of tools that can be used for almost any task we are doing as part of our daily jobs.

As my term as President of the New England Association for Healthcare Philanthropy comes to a close at our annual conference in March, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude. Serving in this role has been an honor, and I am continually inspired by the dedication of our members in the many volunteer roles that make this organization a success. Your passion for healthcare philanthropy has driven our collective impact, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such committed individuals.

Together, we have strengthened our mission and our Association.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to advancing healthcare philanthropy. I look forward to advancing our work!

With Gratitude,

John F. Donovan
President
