Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Award
The NEAHP Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Award was founded in 1978 to recognize an extraordinary individual, couple or family in New England who has made significant contributions to a New England health care organization. Recipients possess the following qualities:
- Provides and inspires significant (as defined by the institution) philanthropic funding to the nominating institution.
- Advocates on behalf of the organization.
- Acts as an ambassador in the community on behalf of the organization.
- Connects others to the organization through their passion.
- Is charitable to other organizations in their community.
- Volunteers in the community.
- Is well-regarded and respected in the community.
- Provides leadership and vision for the organization.
- Someone who does not seek recognition for themselves.
Nominations are typically sought in the late fall but can be submitted at any point during the year. The award is presented at the Annual NEAHP Educational Conference held in March.
2026 Nominations - now accepting
One of the great privileges every NEAHP member has is the opportunity to recognize that individual who makes your fundraising program a success through leadership and philanthropy. They are the ones who personify “sharing of time, talent and treasure”. The avenue to recognize all that they do is to nominate them for the 2026 NEAHP Distinguished Service to Philanthropy Award. This prestigious honor will be presented during the 2026 Annual Educational Conference to be held March 2-4, 2026 at the Westin Harborview in Portland, ME.
- Nominations should submitted online using the button below.
- Nominations must be received no later than January 16, 2026.
- Nominations should be concise and specifically cover the four questions outlined within the nomination form.
- The prestigious honor will be presented during 2026 Annual Educational Conference.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
The recipient of the award must attend the presentation in person to receive the award at the Awards Luncheon.
The nominator (sponsor) will be responsible for creating a video, not to exceed 10 minutes, to be played at the Awards Luncheon. - You are asked NOT to share the name of any nominees with other NEAHP members as our deliberations are kept confidential and the name(s) of the winning recipient(s) remains confidential until released by the DSP Award Selection Committee.
- PLEASE NOTE: If you have nominated someone in the past who was not selected, we encourage you to update and RE-SUBMIT that nomination.
Selection Committee:
A four-person panel appointed by the NEAHP Board of Directors.
Notification:
The nominator (sponsor) of the winning application will be notified by January 16, 2026.
