The
Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) is an
international professional organization dedicated
exclusively to developing the men and women who encourage
charity in North America's health-care systems.
Established in 1967, AHP is the source for education,
networking, information, and research opportunities in
health-care philanthropy. AHP is a not-for-profit
organization of 4,500 members with its international
headquarters located outside Washington, D.C. in Falls
Church, Virginia.
Although NEAHP and AHP are separate organizations with
separate membership fees, NEAHP represents the New England
Region within AHP.
NEAHP members are urged to also join AHP to benefit
from its extensive range of services.
AHP International
Educational Conference
Plan to visit the Liberty Bell and Betsy Ross House
when traveling to Philadelphia this fall for the AHP Annual
International Educational Conference.
The conference takes place October 3-7, 2007 at the
Philadelphia Marriott Hotel.
The Opening Session speaker will be Dan Heath, author
of Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die.
Registration information will be available in June on
the AHP website at www.ahp.org.
Samples Needed
Share your best publications, case statements,
appeal letters and other documents with AHP members by
submitting them to the AHP Resource Information Center
(RIC). Rated as
AHP’s top benefit, the RIC keeps a library of samples that
are available upon an AHP member’s request.

2007 AHP Annual Fund
Campaign
The AHP Foundation’s 2007 Annual Fund campaign is
underway and has received pledges totaling more than
$123,000 toward its goal of $159,000.
Thank you to the more than 900 members who have
pledged so early and so generously.
Your support of the Annual Fund promotes the health care
development profession and better prepares us to serve our
donors and their organizations.
It is this ongoing member commitment that enables AHP
to continually offer, enhance and expand its services and
resources. Your
continuing support of AHP’s online services, the RIC and
scholarships ensures that AHP members stay ahead of the
curve.
Successful health care development professional know the
difference between simply networking and making meaningful
connections.
Positive relationships with donors, organizations and
colleagues are crucial in today’s competitive environment.
The AHP Foundation’s latest initiative is focused
directly on making such connections easy and productive.
AHP eCommunities will
be an online interactive forum that will allow health care
development professionals to network, share best practices
and keep in touch with one another.
Some of the eCommunities being considered include:
planned giving, annual giving, major gifts, capital
campaigns, fundamentals, and small shops.
