2018 January Focus Print

Executive Committee Letter

Jennifer Clark, VP EducationBy Jack Dresser, CFRE
NEAHP Board of Directors and 2018 Conference Education Co-chair

Those of us heading to Woodstock, Vermont in early March for NEAHP’s Annual Educational Conference are in for a real treat. The town is absolutely beautiful – an idyllic New England village nestled along the banks of the Quechee River; offering history, culture, fine food and even boutique shopping. And, thanks to our group discount, we can enjoy the luxurious accommodations of the Woodstock Inn and Resort at a reasonable price. I can hardly wait and I hope to see you there.

Of course, the main attraction is the programs and sessions that Cathy highlights in her article elsewhere in this newsletter. Along those lines, let me make a plug: that the conference offers a great chance to jump-start your journey to becoming a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). I have taken personal satisfaction from my CFRE designation and enjoyed its benefits and you will, too. Despite what you may have heard, the required test isn’t the hard part -- assembling the necessary educational credits is. The programs at the Conference are approved for CFRE credit, so you can rack up a bundle of points toward the 80-point educational requirement.

The first step is to go to CFRE.org to start your application. From there you will be on your way – via Woodstock, I hope - toward a milestone in your professional fundraising career.

See you in Vermont!
