Presidential Address, Winter 2009
Submitted
by: Richard P. Solomon, CFRE, NEAHP President
I almost always take two sets of notes
when I’m at a development education program.
Those sitting nearby see me flipping between the top
sheet of my notepad and the last sheet.
On top, I’m taking notes on the speaker’s comments,
writing furiously as I try to capture insights and key data
that I’ll want to reference later.
Suddenly, I’ve jumped to the back page.
Something that the speaker said triggers a related
(or unrelated) idea for my own development program.
It could be a concept for a new campaign, a creative
approach to a challenging prospect, or a different way to
motivate my development committee members.
It could be anything.
