Eastern Connecticut Health Network Community
HealthCare Foundation, based in Manchester, CT,
seeks an experienced individual to head its Corporate & Foundation
Relations division.
ECHN is a not-for-profit community-based healthcare system that serves
residents of eastern
Connecticut, offering a full range of inpatient
and outpatient services, from wellness to hospital care, from prevention
to early detection, from newborn care to geriatric care. ECHN includes:
Manchester
Memorial
Hospital;
Rockville General Hospital; Woodlake at Tolland, a rehabilitation
facility; Women’s Center for Wellness, located in South Windsor; and Glastonbury Wellness Center,
where both fitness and medical services are provided. Through a variety
of partnerships and affiliations, ECHN is able to offer first class
health services to the communities it serves. ECHN has 2,400 employees.
The Foundation is building a dynamic team of development officers and is
currently in a growth cycle.
The Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer reports to the Vice
President of Development and has the primary responsibility for
developing and implementing a system-wide strategy and comprehensive
program of Corporate and Foundation relations. This is a key position
which offers opportunities for advancement. The successful candidate
could move into a Director’s role within five years if strategic goals
for grants and corporate support are realized.
Under general supervision, the Corporate & Foundation Relations Officer
advances the philanthropic mission of ECHN by participating in a variety
of direct fundraising initiatives designed to steward corporate donors,
corporate employee groups, private and public foundations and civic
associations toward higher levels of giving. Participates in the
development, coordination and implementation of all fundraising program
elements for annual corporate and foundation giving. Independently
cultivates and stewards corporate and foundation donors (under $25,000)
within the general parameters of overall giving policies and plans.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate for this position will have five years of solid
experience in grants administration and/or corporate relations and is
required to have a Bachelor’s degree. Ideal qualities and abilities
include: Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Ability
to present effectively to small and large groups; Ability to persuade
and influence others; Thorough knowledge of fundraising and marketing
principles and procedures; Program development and leadership skills;
Strong computer skills, ability to gather data, analyze information and
prepare reports; Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to
interact effectively and professionally with medical staff,
administration, prospects, donors, trustees, volunteers and vendors;
Ability to make evaluative judgments, foster effective working
relationships within a team environment, manage conflict and build
essential partnerships to ensure fundraising success; Ability to
supervise and train staff and volunteers.
