Auburn
Hospital
Development Officer
The
Development Officer manages an assigned group of donor prospects and a
broad range of projects and activities in support of the fundraising
objectives within the hospital’s fast-paced Development Office.
Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Officer is
responsible for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of
individual prospects within selected communities that Mount Auburn
serves.
The Officer also manages the cultivation of prospects and donors within
specific affinity groups, including the Hoffman
Breast Center
and the Barron Center for Men’s Health, working with the
clinical staff in those areas.
The Officer organizes events for the cultivation of donors and
prospects, including clinical presentations on the hospital campus and
friendraiser/cultivation events in the assigned communities.
The Officer collaborates with development colleagues on a range of other
initiatives, which may include special events, communications and grant
support.
The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of development experience,
including two years in major gifts, preferably within a health care
environment. The
individual must be goal-oriented, have strong strategic and
communication skills, high energy, initiative and creativity, as well as
an ability to work collaboratively and flexibly, often within tight
deadlines.
Founded in 1886, Mount Auburn is a 200-bed teaching hospital affiliated with
Harvard Medical School.
It provides a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services at
its nine-acre campus in Cambridge and through an extensive network of
clinical sites in the surrounding communities.
The hospital has experienced significant growth in recent years,
with a net income of $24.6 million on revenues of $275 million in 2007.
To accommodate this growth and to meet the region’s future
healthcare needs, Mount
Auburn has recently
completed a $24 million capital campaign to help fund a new patient care
center, which will be opening later this year.
