Assistant Director, Major Gifts, MGH for Children and Nursing

The Assistant Director plays an important role in strengthening the development and major gifts program for MassGeneral Hospital for Children and for the Department of Nursing at the Massachusetts General Hospital.   S/he will be responsible for the oversight, coordination, and strategy development for the solicitation of major gift prospects and donors who are at various stages of their relationship with the hospital.  While working closely with the Major Gifts team, physicians, nurses, administrative leaders and volunteers, s/he will identify, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward major gifts. 

Qualifications: BA/BS and a minimum of 5-7 years of fund raising experience in a nonprofit setting, including demonstrated success in the area of major gifts.  S/he must have excellent communication capabilities, initiative, good judgment, and strong interpersonal and organizational skills.  Computer literacy required; must have experience with Windows and databases.
