Annual Giving Manager

Lowell General Hospital, a trusted community hospital with 200 licensed beds, 38 bassinets, and two satellite locations, is embarking on a bold journey to build the framework for a future of healthcare excellence with plans for building a new patient bed tower. The hospital has a 120-year history of caring for the needs of patients from Lowell and surrounding communities with specialty care services ranging from Cancer Care to Cardiac, from Pediatric Specialty Clinics in partnership with Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center to Pain Management. Additionally, it offers 24-hour Emergency Services, Surgical Care, Critical Care and General Medical units. At its Regional Center for Maternal and Pediatric Care, the hospital recently announced the elevation of its Level II Special Care Nursery to a Level IIB, enabling it to provide unprecedented neonatal care in the region to babies with special health needs.  The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons has granted the hospital’s Cancer Center a three-year Approval with Commendation as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. And for the third consecutive year, its Heart Center has received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines Coronary Artery Disease Gold Performance Achievement Award, recognizing its success in implementing appropriate evidence-based care and protocols to reduce the number of recurrent events and deaths in cardiovascular disease patients.  www.lowellgeneral.org

Position Summary: The Annual Giving Manager will join Lowell General’s expanding development team in support of an unprecedented capital campaign to build a state-of-the-art hospital facility. Reporting to the hospital’s chief development officer, this position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the hospital’s annual giving program, including developing and maintaining an annual and multi-year annual giving strategic plan and innovative direct mail and e-philanthropy strategies, managing a portfolio of annual giving donors, and conducting face-to-face solicitation.

Principal Accountabilities:
-
Develop and maintain an annual and multi-year annual giving strategic plan
-Manage portfolio of annual giving donors and conduct face-to-face solicitations
-Implement creative direct mail and e-philanthropy initiatives
-Manage all direct mail activities for annual giving, special events and campaign
-Through data analysis and manipulation, identify major gift and planned giving prospects for special treatment
-Develop and implement stewardship strategies and events (Honor Roll Reception and Fellows Luncheon) and giving societies to ensure donor renewal and retention
-Maintain and update development web site content
-Recruit and manage employee and physicians fundraising committees/programs
-Coordinate the design and printing of stewardship publications as needed
-Draft donor acknowledgments and specialized letters
-Collaborate with Data Administrator to review data and create benchmarks that are integral to overall        fundraising plans and activities
-Manage and track naming opportunities throughout the Hospital
-Attend and assist with all special events as needed

Qualifications:
Demonstrated successful track record in Annual Fund and donor cultivation and solicitation; Bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years’ experience in annual giving or related field; record of measurable results in organizing and implementing direct mail appeals with knowledge of donor segmentation, appeal content development, stewardship, e-philanthropy, and analysis; a skilled manager with exceptional organizational and planning skills; superb written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills; strong analytical skills with attention to detail and proven ability to meet financial goals and deadlines; high integrity and work ethic; a compassionate, respectful team player; proficiency in MS Office, experience with Raiser's Edge preferred.
