Reporting to the Senior Director of Development for MGHfC, the DOD oversees and manages the two signature events for MGHfC, the Storybook Ball and the Aspire Gala. He or she also supports development efforts for specific doctors within MGHfC and partners with colleagues in research, corporation and foundation relationships and events who cover those functions for MGHfC. The DOD works with the Senior Director of Development and MGHfC and hospital leadership, faculty, staff, colleagues and volunteers to help achieve annual and special campaign goals and to manage major gift-oriented fundraising efforts aimed at achieving these goals. The DOD will identify and maintain a portfolio of prospects, generally, but not exclusively drawing the “grateful patient, grateful family” model. He or she will ensure a coordinated and collaborative approach to major gift solicitation, stewardship, special events, corporations and foundations, and annual and gift planning, as well as prospect research.
